Netchex named to LSU 100 list of fastest growing, Tiger-owned businesses
March 12, 2012

Netchex founders Will Boudreaux and Stuart Ethridge have always been proud to call themselves alumni of LSU – the university that brought them together and gave them the essential tools for starting and managing their own successful business.

This year, LSU is showing its pride in Boudreaux and Ethridge for their achievements by naming Netchex to the LSU 100 – a prestigious list comprised of the 100 fastest growing LSU-owned or LSU-led businesses in the world.

“We are honored to be recognized by LSU and the Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute for our efforts,” Boudreaux said. “Our years at LSU were memorable. For Stuart and myself, LSU is where we met, became great friends and ultimately, what led us to our business partnership.”

Netchex joins a list of former LSU students representing various fields and professions who have created successful businesses locally, nationally and internationally.

“It is exciting to be in the same company with the other LSU-run businesses and share in this great honor,” Boudreaux said.
But the LSU 100 list isn’t just about a company’s bottom line. Keeping in line with the spirit and integrity of LSU and its students, companies included on the LSU 100 must also demonstrate strong character in their operations.

The LSU 100 seeks to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of former LSU Tigers, and it also provides a forum to pass lessons to the next generation of LSU entrepreneurs. The LSU 100 was created by the Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute to offer encouragement, education, networking and assistance to students, faculty and Louisiana businesses.

Jarett Rodriguez, associate director of SEI, said the LSU 100 is a “tremendous success.” By engaging these alumni with the LSU community, LSU 100 creates the opportunity for students to network with and learn from business leaders, Rodriguez said.

“We are hoping the event continues to grow,” Rodriguez said. “It is great to have the opportunity to bring former students back to campus and give current students the opportunity to interact with successful Tigers.”

Boudreaux and Ethridge founded Netchex in 2003. The company has quickly grown into an industry leader in web-based payroll, human resource, benefits and time and labor management services. Netchex is listed on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing, privately owned businesses in the country. The organization was also recognized in January for its strength and its contributions to its local economy with the Tammany Award for Large Business by the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce.
